lived and breathed: I have spent the greatest part of my life in Southeast Texas, attending Port Neches-Groves High School. I was employed in the corrections field for 10 years as an adult probation officer and drug treatment court program coordinator. I completed my undergraduate education at Lamar University, MA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake, and Ph.D. in sociology from Western Michigan University. I am Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology, Criminology, and Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
the fam: I have been married since 1993. The majority of our family remains in Texas. My wife and I have one dog (Gray) and two cats (Niles and Fraser).
favorite hobbies: Reading, movies, and camping are my hobbies. Click HERE to view my top 10 movies. Check out my goodreads page:
interests: My interests include correctional treatment, especially as they relate to meditation and mindfulness. I have taught meditation/mindfulness classes to criminal justice populations. I also guide meditation at a local yoga studio. Mostly due Scott Stillman’s Wilderness, I have a renewed interest in hiking and camping.
